We will explore potential partnerships between social movements and universities in the face of authoritarian neoliberalism, between Brasil and Germany.
The Seminar aims to analyse what forms of collective action/organization and counterstrategies dispute urban territories in the perspective of the right to the city, with an emphasis on the ones involving universities, research institutes and social movements.
We will discuss the scalar connection between territories and right to the city; the relation between research and activism and how to improve these interactions in the South and in the North; how resistance and counterstrategies are created in South and North, how to connect cities, rural areas, distinct territories and global perspectives.
