SUSTAINABILITY AND THE WORLD MAP OF INJUSTICE
through the global distribution of money and resources
with Prof. Nicolas Gruber, ETH Zurich and PostDoc Dr. Simon Schaupp, University of Basel
Worldwide, resources are distributed unfairly. A small few have a lot - others remain stuck in poverty. It is particularly countries in the so-called 'Global North' destroying the environment, which in turn hits the poorer people in the 'Global South' particularly hard. Prof. Nicolas Gruber, who teaches environmental physics at ETH Zurich, explains the reasons and effects of climatic changes in different regions of the world. PostDoc Dr. Simon Schaupp will speak from a social science perspective on the relationship between sustainability and social inequality. After the two short lectures, there will be room for questions and discussion.
